CAROLYN BRENNAN, C-IAYT, RYT500
A former Army nurse, amateur triathlete and group fitness instructor, Carolyn began practicing yoga in 1996 and credits the skills cultivated in her practice with helping her meet the challenges of daily life and be a more present and grounded mother, wife, daughter and friend. She completed her 500 hour Professional Level Teacher Training with Yoganand Michael Carroll in the Kripalu tradition in 2009. In 2015, she completed a 300 hour yoga therapy program with physical therapist and yoga therapist Marlysa Sullivan of the Center for Integrative Yoga Studies. Carolyn is a certified yoga therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and brings the experience of a career in nursing and health research to her teaching. She also holds a Masters of Public Health degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Carolyn’s teaching emphasizes breath and body awareness, alignment and the balance of effort and ease, on and off the mat!

In this therapeutic class, we'll use breathing, movement and meditation techniques to explore postural awareness and find optimal spinal alignment. We’ll also address muscle imbalances of the spine, hips, neck and shoulders, releasing tight muscles and learning to access and strengthen those that support safe, effective posture and movement.
